Just who am i anyway ? Certainly not a tree or insurance expect. As previously posted, Sunday's windstorm brought down one of our neighbor's trees that is now leaning on the back of our garage at the roof line.
This is just great as his house is under contract and scheduled to close on April 11. Upon noticing the tree branches now extending above our garage and not over in the neighbor's yard, my first reaction is OH SH..T.
Realizing that earlier, a message came thru my phone from Nixle-the police / emergency notification System - only call police for emergencies that result in power outages or dangerous downed wires, I figure what is going to be my luck in getting thru to our homeowners insurance company. Well I did., and the claim was put on file, someone would call me in a few day.
The next day, the neighbor's insurance company called us also with a claim number. Great, the neighbor found his paperwork and knew who to call.
Today I heard from our insurance company who took down more information and said they would pay to have the tree removed from our yard but the bad news is we have a $1,000 deductible. Subjugation is not done with these kind of claims. I am feeling pretty good knowing we have a claim in with the neighbor's insurance company - until I read my email . Something to the effect of we find the tree in good health and the neighbor did nothing wrong. Contact your homeowners. An official letter of denial will be prepared.
Are you kidding me ? does this look like a healthy tree to you ? I think the insurance rep is mistaking all the strangling ivy around the tree as the greenery of a healthy tree.
Well , I sent more picture asking her to review the additional pictures. I think the neighbor sent a nice photo showing green growth from somewhere but it is certainly not from this tree.
So here is the deal so far, if you have a concern about the condition of a tree that is in your neighbor's yard, send them a CERTIFIED LETTER express your concerns to document incase that tree ever fall in your yard because you will be stuck with paying your deductible.
This claim is currently in subjugation and we are patiently waiting for our deductible money back.
